Main Dashboard

The main dashboard provides a global view of the database status and activity.

Each graph is described below.

Box Description
Last full backup Elapsed time since the last full backup using probkup.
Current AI Sequence number of the current busy after-image extent and the total number of extents
Full AI extents Number of full AI extents awaiting archiving
Locked AI extents If OE Replication is enabled, the number of locked AI extents
Empty AI Number of empty AI extents
Curr. AI seq AI sequence number of the current busy AI extent
Lock HWM Lock table high water mark. The largest number of simultaneous record locks
Lock table size Maximum number of simultaneous record locks (-L startup parameter)
Avail. TRS* The number of available slots in tablerangesize for new tables
Avail. IRS* The number of available slots in indexrangesize for new indexes
DB Size Size of the database
Version OpenEdge version

*If the Avail TRS and/or IRS values are negative, see the Table and Index Range Information page for more information.

General Info Graphs

These graphs give an overall view of connection information and the performance of the underlying infrastructure from a uniquely OpenEge ABL perspective. See the Dashboard View page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.

Database IO Graphs

These graphs show the interplay of logical versus physical reads and writes, as well as the hit ratio and the logical-to-record read ratio. See the Dashboard View page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.

Transactions & Locks Graphs

These graphs provide detailed historical data on transactions, record locking and BI activity. See the Dashboard View page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.

Record Activity

These graphs provide detailed historical data on record, index, resource and latch activity, as well as RM chain activity. See the Dashboard View page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.

Network Metrics

For applications that query the database across a client-server connection, these very important metrics show how efficient the transport of data is across the network. See the Server Activity page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.

The third graph "User Defined" allows customers of the commercial version of ProTop to track up to 8 application KPIs and correlate that data against database activity. See the Dashboard View page for a description of custom metrics.

Async Writer Statistics

The Enterprise Database product includes a number of helper processes designed to offload IO tasks from the broker and other users. See the Dashboard View page for descriptions and in depth discussions on the metrics in these panels.
